Sustainable funding for mobility is a major challenge for all European countries. At the same time, their varied histories have resulted in many different solutions being implemented. The “mobility payment” set up in France is the only one of its kind in the world. In Germany, local authorities bear most of the cost; in the UK, transport services are funded by users. Is any one model more efficient than the others? Are all avenues worth exploring? This session will provide an opportunity to discuss best practices used in the various approaches, and identify solutions worth promoting at the European level.
