Transport infrastructure and EU funding

The European Union has become a financial partner for many transport infrastructure projects, sometimes unavoidably so, be it through requests for proposals, innovative financial instruments, the Europe Interconnection Mechanism (EIM), structural funds, the Recovery and Resilience Facility, or the European Investment Bank (EIB). The 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework has only just begun; what EU instruments are there to promote transport infrastructures? How are they interlinked? What are the key criteria granting entitlement?
